Troubleshooting - Telnyx Sign Up

Why can’t I use a Gmail email address to sign up for Telnyx?

Telnyx requires a business or organization email address for sign-up to ensure platform integrity and prevent misuse.

Free email services like Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail are often used for fraudulent or disposable accounts.

By requiring a verified company or organization email, Telnyx can better protect its network, comply with regulatory requirements, and ensure that services are being used for legitimate business purposes.

I didn’t receive my verification email. What should I do?

Emails sometimes end up in spam/junk folders. Users should whitelist @telnyx.com domains and request a new verification email if needed.

Can I create multiple accounts with the same business email?

Generally, no; Telnyx ties accounts to unique business entities. Sub-accounts and projects can be created within a single account instead.

Why do I need to add billing information before using services?

Telnyx requires a valid payment method (credit card or bank transfer) to prevent service abuse and ensure smooth activation of paid features.

Why does Telnyx require KYC (Know Your Customer)

Telnyx is a global communications provider subject to telecom and financial compliance regulations.

KYC helps verify customer identity, reduce fraud, and prevent abuse, such as spam calls, robocalls, or other malicious telecom activities.

It also ensures compliance with laws around telecommunications and anti-money laundering (AML).

In short, KYC protects both Telnyx and its customers from fraud and regulatory issues.

Why was my account application rejected?

Sometimes accounts are denied if the KYC verification fails, if the submitted documents are invalid or unclear, or if the business purpose doesn’t align with Telnyx’s acceptable use policies.

How long does KYC verification take?

Typically, a few business days, but it can take longer if additional documents are required.
